Overview
The ShortsNinja Video Editor gives you full creative control over how your AI-generated short is structured, styled, and finalized. Whether you’re fine-tuning voiceover timing, adjusting visuals, or preparing your thumbnail — everything happens here.

🧩 Scenes-Based Structure
Every video is made up of scenes, and each scene consists of scene items:
Scene Items can include:
🎙️ Voiceover
🖼️ Visual Assets (AI images, stock, etc.)
🎵 Music or audio layers
Soon, we will be adding more options :)
Each scene item is fully editable and has:
Its own duration
A custom settings panel for controls (e.g., volume, pan, transitions, text overlays)
You can add, remove, or reorder items freely within each scene.
🧭 Editor Tabs
The editor is organized into 8 powerful tabs, accessible from the left sidebar.
Click each to dive into its dedicated controls (we’ll explain each in its own guide):
Global Scene – Set Scene items that will be across the whole video and not ordered by scenes.
Thumbnail – Customize your scroll-stopping thumbnail, including visual and text overlays
Scenes – Add, edit, and manage scenes and scene items
Captions – See your captions and edit them freely
Subtitles – Control your video subtitles design
Voiceover – Update the whole video voiceover at once.
Metadata – Prepare title, description, hashtags, and tags for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram
AI Jobs – View and track all background AI tasks like AI videos generation, voice generation, or AI image creation
🧵 Timeline Navigation
The bottom timeline gives you a visual overview of the full video:
See scene assets, music, voiceover tracks, and image spans
Easily scrub through the video or jump between scenes
Use it to align audio to visuals for the best impact
(Note: Timeline is visual-only — actual edits are made in the tabs)
🎛 Playback Controls
Above the timeline, you'll find editor-wide controls:
▶️ Play / ⏹️ Stop
⏩ Adjust playback speed (e.g., 1x, 2x for preview and actual rendering)
🔍 Zoom in/out for better timeline precision
⛶ Fullscreen toggle
📐 Ratio control (e.g., 9:16, 16:9) — ideal for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram
📤 Export / Share
Once you’re happy with your edits, click Export / Share in the top-right:
Render and download the final video
Or publish directly to connected platforms (YouTube, TikTok, etc.) if your account is linked
Re-export at any time if you make edits
